West is best!

What a week it has been – clear blue sky and even quite warm at times. An ‘away day’ to the west was called for and it was wonderful. So much so that we were reluctant to head home and sat on the pier at Oban just enjoying the evening sunshine and watching the boats. Blue sky, blue sea, primroses in abundance – especially along the banks of the Crinan Canal, favourite walk for the dogs at the beaver lake, delicious lunch at Kilmartin Museum cafe and amazing views out to the islands. West is best – on a day like this.

Sunny wriggles!

There is obviously nothing quite like a good wriggle on the grass on a dry, sunny Spring day. The daffodils are glorious this year, even if they are late in flowering, and the camellias are just beginning to flower. Just wish it was a bit warmer, as there is still a cold wind out of the north.

You may recognise the chair from my Blog of 20th December, 2015. I had just completed the new seat cushion for it and was very pleased with the result. Now I have a matching stool, having repaired the cane seat and made a lovely new cushion in the same Harris Tweed that is on the chair.
